A Bay Area native, Dr. Beasley was raised by a family engaged in community based programs and resources for the underserved. This principle led her to pursue higher education. She went on to graduate from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Communication, University of the Pacific with a M.A. in Higher Education Administration, and from University of San Francisco with an Ed.D. in International and Multicultural Administration. During her 15 year tenure as a student affairs administrator she has become a master planner, strategist, and visionary for orientation and family programs throughout California. In these roles, Dr. Beasley uses her interpersonal skill set to build relationships with her colleagues to ensure the best of the university is shared with new students and their families. Her ability to create wrap around programming and support for families in the university setting has led to state and national recognition.
Maisha is a compassionate leader, an engaging speaker, and a lifelong student of the field of education. She has the ability to connect with most students, families, and colleagues with whom she interacts at both large public or small private institutions. Recently completing her doctorate degree, Dr. Beasley provides her expertise as a teacher, educational consultant, and speaker in her field of student engagement and success. Her experience mixed with her personable demeanor make her a relatable professional with the ability to touch people’s hearts, enhance their knowledge, and motivate them to think differently about ideologies and practices.
